Do fuel saver gizmos that you put on your gas line really work. They claim to add 10- 20% more mpg?

If the do, how? Why dont cars come with them on them already?

Oh absolutely. Strapping a magnet to your fuel line will line up the molecules of gasoline raising the apparent octane of the fuel so it’s more efficient, and give you 20% more miles per gallon!

Snake oil salesmen my friend, who come out of the woodwork every time fuel prices increase. Don’t you think if it worked the builders of the cars, mandated to get better gas mileage, would strap them on all their new cars?

From the web: Gas Savers Fraud
With the dramatic rise in gas prices, many people are buying so-called “gas savers” – products that allegedly give better gas mileage – from magnets to fuel additives.

However, independent studies by Consumer Reports, the Environmental Protection Agency and MSU professors, have shown that none of these products produce significant fuel savings.

Gas Savers in the News
